These terms cover your use of this website and, in plain English, the basics of membership of the Bright United Men's Shed Inc. ("BUMS", "we", "us"), an incorporated association registered in Victoria. By using this website you agree to these terms.

Using this website

• The information on this site is provided in good faith and kept as accurate as we can manage, but opening hours, fees and activities can change. When in doubt, check with us.
• You may not use this site for anything unlawful, or attempt to interfere with its operation or other people's accounts.
• Member accounts are personal. Keep your login details to yourself.

Membership

• Membership is open to men aged 18 and over, subject to acceptance under our constitution and rules.
• The annual fee is $60, payable on joining and at each renewal. Fees are set by the committee and may change.
• All members must complete a safety induction before using workshop equipment, and follow the directions of the duty officer and our safe operating procedures at all times.
• The committee may suspend or cancel a membership in accordance with our constitution.

Payments and refunds

• Online payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Membership fees are generally non-refundable once your membership has started. If something's gone wrong with a payment, like a duplicate charge, contact us and we'll put it right.
• Donations are voluntary and non-refundable. BUMS has deductible gift recipient (DGR) status, and donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.

Safety and liability

• Working with tools and machinery carries inherent risks. Members and visitors must follow all safety instructions, wear required protective equipment, and never operate machinery they haven't been inducted on.
• To the extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law), BUMS is not liable for loss or injury arising from a failure to follow safety instructions or our rules.
• Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or the Wrongs Act 1958 (Vic).

Our logo and content

The BUMS name, logo and the content on this site belong to the Bright United Men's Shed Inc. You're welcome to use our logo to promote the shed or events we're part of. Grab the files and the simple rules from our brand page. Please don't use it in a way that suggests we endorse something we don't.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date above.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
